Jean-Marc Doussain's late penalty saw France snatch a 19-17 victory over Scotland at Murrayfield to maintain their hopes of lifting the RBS 6 Nations crown next week in Paris.

Scotland were on track for back-to-back one-point wins in the RBS 6 Nations after Duncan Weir's 61st-minute penalty but they were unable to build on their lead and France, who were far from their best, pinched victory late on.

Scotland is playing against Wales on the 15th of March at the Millennium Scotland. Fingers crossed then!

Northern Lights light up skies above Lothians

People across the Lothians have been treated to a rare and spectacular glimpse of the Northern Lights.

Spectacular red and green lights of the Aurora Borealis, the result of a strong magnetic storm, lit up skies along the east coast with excited aurora-spotters taking to social media to share their photos of the natural phenomenon.

The stunning natural light show revealed itself to people all across Scotland with people turning their eyes to the heavens in Glasgow, Orkney and Aberdeenshire, while stargazers also reported seeing the lights as far south as Gloucestershire, Essex and Norfolk.

The Art of Tudor and Stuart Fashion opens in Edinburgh next month at The Queen’s Gallery, Palace of Holyroodhouse and will run until mid-July.

Clothes and the way they were worn conveyed messages about wealth, age, social position, marital status and even religion.
