There's an exciting programme of events at Lauriston Castle throughout 2014. Join an Easter workshop for families on Saturday 19 April from 10am to 1pm - explore trails in the Castle grounds and try your hand at special crafts.
Lauriston Castle is also open for additional guided tours from April through October: Monday - Thursday at 2pm; Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. There is no need to book in advance.
The Hidden Door Festival 2014 opens its doors today! The pop-up festival with live music, art installations, bars, a theatre and a cinema will temporarily transform 24 disused vaults on Market Street, Edinburgh until Saturday 5 April.
The event has 80 visual artists, 50 live music acts, 40 film makers and 30 poets and is expected to draw 5,000 visitors.
Hidden Door is free from noon until 6pm daily then tickets grant full access to each evening’s unique programme, including live music (until 11pm), theatre, performance, spoken word, film screenings, art installations and bars.

More than 2,400 artists from 43 countries will take part in the annual three week festival with its unique mix of theatre, dance, music and opera.
Ganesh Versus the Third Reich is set to be a highlight and this year’s showcase cultural exposé promises to be one of the widest and most varied ever – with a range of performances to suit all tastes.
The Edinburgh International Festival will run from August 8th - 31st.
