Who's looking forward to Glasgow 2014?
There are 40 days to go and tomorrow sees the Queen's Baton relay arrive in Edinburgh travelling around the city, out to Portobello and back into the centre!
On Saturday 14 June the residents of Coldstream and Edinburgh will welcome the arrival of the Queen’s Baton into Scotland in what promises to be a memorable inauguration on Scottish soil, with a range of extraordinary batonbearers gearing up to take part in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games’ Queen's Baton Relay.
It has been proudly carried through the length and breadth of the Commonwealth sharing the warmth and friendship of Glasgow and Scotland with some of the world’s most diverse communities. Early in the morning, in a touching ceremony in the Border town of Coldstream, the Glasgow 2014 Queen’s Baton is to return to Scotland, marking the final straight of a 100,000-mile epic journey and the final countdown to the Commonwealth Games.
